Using VIMA Tunes

by Rick Morales

VIMA Tunes are fun and easy to use with the new Artist Edition models. Although they are a great tool to improve and/or enhance your playing skills, this Tips and Tricks article is aimed at utilizing VIMA Tunes CDs for wonderful “professional style” karaoke disks with lyrics and slide shows.

Here are the simple steps to enjoy VIMA Tunes on your new Artist Edition instrument:

  1. Remove the CD from the jewel case
  2. Insert CD (printed side up) into the CD drive on your Atelier
  3. Select “Song” from the Composer section on the right side of your Atelier control panel
    (Photo)
  4. As necessary, select “CD” as the media
  5. Choose the song you wish to hear
  6. Press “Load”

You may now enjoy listening to the song by simply pressing “Play.” Simple lyrics will be displayed on the Atelier’s widescreen display but, if you wish to enjoy the karaoke style lyrics, a great slide show, and minus-one features, stay tuned.

  1. When you pressed “Load”, simple lyrics appeared. Press “Cancel” to reveal the “Rec/Play” screen
  2. On the right side of the screen, touch “VIMA Tunes”
    (Photo)
  3. Now touch “Slide Show”
    (Photo)
  4. If you wish to play along with the VIMA Tune, touch “Mute” to cancel the melody or “Guide” to reduce the volume of the recorded melody by 50%
  5. Touch the play icon at the bottom of the screen to start the song

If your Atelier is connected to an external monitor, the slide show and lyrics will appear on the external monitor allowing you continued access to all the Atelier controls on the internal screen.

If you do not have an external monitor, touch “Video Monitor” below the screen and enjoy the slide show on the Atelier’s own widescreen monitor.

HINT: If you want to enjoy all the songs on the VIMA Tunes CD (or any audio CD) hold down the “Song” button in the composer section while touching the “Play” button. All the songs will play sequentially.
