Customize Your Atelier (Photo)

Do you know you can “customize” the start-up screens on your Atelier®? Most “touch screen” model Ateliers have a feature called “BMP Installer.” If you’re like me, you’ve never read the owners manual and may have no idea what that is or does. It’s really kind of fun!

Imagine seeing pictures of your grandchildren every time you power up your Atelier, or pictures of your favorite Roland artist, your spouse, or your favorite organ teacher.

The BMP installer allows you to view a personalized slide show each time you turn on your Atelier, rather than watching the Atelier logo as the organ “boots up.”

Here’s how to use it:

  1. Select your picture(s)
  2. Use your computer to revise the image to the following format:
    • 800 x 480 pixels (320 x 240 for S or SL)
    • 24-bit color (8-bit for S or SL)
  3. Save the image in BMP (Bitmap) format on a disk or USB key (The file name can be 1–8 characters and the .bmp extension must be added)
  4. Insert the disk or USB key to your Atelier
  5. Touch “System” on the main screen
  6. Touch “Utility”
  7. Touch “BMP Installer”
  8. Touch 01, 02 or 03 to select destination
  9. Touch “Load”
  10. Select media (Next Generation only)
  11. Select the image you wish to load

You can use the “Preview” function to view the image(s).

Next time you power up, you’ll see your own custom image or images!

I’ve included a couple of images that are “ready to load”. Just click below to download:
