Roland AtelierLandmark Organ Sound, Performance, and Luxury
We just finished creating some new performance videos, featuring the “praise and worship” side of the new AT-350C Atelier® Combo.
This was my first opportunity to really explore the power of this new instrument and, I’ve got to tell you, it’s amazing! The new drawbar sounds really kick and scream, and the new “rotary” effect is spot on.
Beside the great fat organ sound (totally new sound engine), I was thoroughly impressed with the new “behavior modeling” sounds. This is brand new technology and, so far, these amazing sounds are only available on the AT-350 Combo. They incorporate all the subtleties and nuances of live acoustic performance, easily controlled from the keyboard.
For example, there is a new Trumpet that just doesn’t get any better! If you hold the left kick switch with your foot and play the next note, it slides to the next note with the total accuracy and feel of a live trumpet player. If you kick the right switch, the next note you play will be a trumpet fall that will have you looking around the room for the real Trumpet player…it’s that good!
Remember how hard we all practiced to “roll” the chord to make a guitar sound authentic? The new Guitars strum the chord automatically when you play a group of notes. You can even recreate the sound of the musician’s hand “damping” the strings. It’s mind-boggling when I look down and see that this guitarsound is coming from the keys!
Those are just a few of the highlights I experienced, virtually playing this instrument for the first time. I’m really looking forward to spending more time with the AT-350C and using it on future tours.
I encourage you to explore the new Atelier Combo on your own. It’s an easy learning curve from any of the other Atelier models, and a highly recommended “step-up” or second instrument.
I hope you enjoy the “praise and worship” musical examples I contributed, and I’ll look forward to seeing you on my next visit to your local dealer.

Chuck Wright
