This fall, Roland’s devoted organ enthusiasts signed up once again to participate in the second year of the Roland Atelier® Organ Fest. As the excitement built, more participants entered than last year and more Roland® dealers became involved. Our dealer hosts provided beautiful settings, great sound and audiences that supported the participants to the fullest. For those who did not live near a Roland Atelier dealer we opened a video category. Their performance was sent directly to Roland for judging. Those participants who succeeded in the video category will join the Semi-Final events to be held in February.
It is amazing to be able to have so many people share their music. Many participants from last year had shown remarkable improvement and confidence. Musical selections were from rock to classic and all orchestrated professionally on the AT-800/-900 Atelier organ.
Our judges gave positive critique to the players, with suggestions on registration, rhythmic accompaniment, orchestration and general aspects of performance. It was great fun to listen, observe and enjoy the festivities.
The National Semi-Final events will be held on February 20th in Orlando and February 27th in Las Vegas. Again, we grew. Last year, there was only one Semi-Final, this year we have expanded to two locations. We are glad to be able to accommodate more participants.
Another added feature this year will be Maestro Hector Olivera hosting master classes for those participants who go on to perform in the National Finals. The National Finals will be held on March 20, 2010 in Los Angeles.
