The date - March 27, 2009… The place - the DoubleTree Hotel in Commerce, California… The event - simply the best of the best! About 350 people were in attendance to witness the First Annual Roland Atelier Organ Fest National Finals. And the participants did not disappoint! The evening was filled with great music and fantastic arrangements performed on the Next Generation AT-900.
Each of the eleven Finalists took their turn wowing the audience with their performances. Ranging in age from the young to the young at heart, the contestants showed great poise and confidence as they took the stage to play. The evening’s program was filled with a variety of music that was both arranged and played with such emotion that it was obvious each participant was truly engrossed with their selection.
Rosemary Bailey, Debbie Culbertson-Skinner and Maestro Hector Olivera served as judges for the event, and their task could not have been more difficult. After some constructive comments at the end of each performance, the judges convened to make their choices for the winners of each division. Following an amazing and inspiring performance by none other than Hector Olivera, the winners were announced.

From the very first Local Fest’s held in the fall of 2008 to the final performance on March 27th, the Atelier Organ Fest has been an amazing journey.
