Gene Roberson
Gene Roberson began playing the piano and organ at age 5. Gene first heard the organ in church and after a few years of lessons, took over the organist position at the age of 10.
Gene won top honors in piano and organ competitions in high school. With his love of teaching the organ, he opened his first organ studio in 1972 which included organ clubs and group teaching. Gene studied organ with Mildred Alexander and Joyce Jones and is at home playing all styles of organ music; Classical, Theater Organ, Jazz, you name it!
Gene has traveled all over the world playing the organ. He has inspired audiences on various cruises, European cathedrals, organ clubs, and music dealers. Gene recently played for the International Young Organist Festival in Palencia , Spain . He continues to play for church each Sunday playing all styles of sacred music. As an arranger and composer, he has co-written over 30 children’s musicals, recorded over 15 organ and piano CD’s and written several piano arrangement books.
Gene joined Roland Corporation U.S. in the summer of 2005 as a member of the Roland Event Marketing Team. Gene will perform exclusively on the AT-90SL.
Gene currently lives in Southern California with his wife. He is a gourmet chef and enjoys spending time with their four Italian Greyhounds.
